ENGLISH ASSEMBLY
FRENCH ASSEMBLY |
To the glory of God, Glory and Power assembly, Cotonou, started in February 2000 in a miraculous way. The resident Pastor, Reverend James Kehinde Alonge’s visit to a town in Benin Republic called Egnagnon brought forth outstanding miracles: the father of a new convert was healed and electricity was installed in the area.
On seeing the evidence of God’s anointing upon His servant Reverend Alonge and his wife Pastor Temitope Alonge, the new convert insisted on having the church begin in his sitting room; ever since then, to God’s glory the French assembly has had a comprehensive growth.
The offshoot of the French assembly is also called Glory and Power assembly, it is situated in Scoa Gbeto. This is the English assembly in Cotonou; the birth of an English assembly is borne out of a genuine desire to reach all in the nation of Benin Republic.
Given that Benin Republic is a melting point for people of different cultures and race, we believe that through the establishment of both a French and English assembly, we will be able to reach a wider audience and bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Our vision for these assemblies is that through us, indigenes, who were previously idol worshipper will be saved and we pray that they become true disciples of Jesus Christ. By the grace of God, we desire to reach out to the learned, help the poor and the downtrodden; we pray that God will use us as instruments to help such have a sense of belonging in the society. Our utmost desire is to see them becoming members of GOD’S KINGDOM.
