Among the four gospels, the gospel according to Saint Luke is very unique. Luke has the most universal outlook among all the gospels: he portrays Jesus as a man with compassion for all people.
Whereas, Matthew traces the genealogy of Jesus back to Abraham, the progenitor of Hebrew people(1:2),Luke traces it back to Adam, the Father of humanity(3:28).
In Matthew, Jesus sends His disciples “to the lost sheep of Israel” but Luke omits this limitation. The main objective of this course is to intimate students with this uniqueness.
